Second Batch of Home Projects

Things are coming together in the condo, slowly but surely. I have two small projects and one big project to share today.

Small Project #1

We bought these really cool industrial, yet awesomely modern, initials from Anthropologie about a year ago. We knew we wanted to hang them right by the front door. This was a quick project we finished while stuck inside this weekend.

Small Project #2

When I unpacked all of our kitchen boxes I kind of just tossed all of our miscellaneous utensils in a drawer together. This weekend I finally had some time to organize it (as much as possible). It’s still a little crazy in there but now it’s more like Organized Chaos instead of WTF Happened In Here. You know?

Big Project: The Front Yard

At our first condo association meeting last week we all decided to remove the front yard ruffage and do something nicer with our patch of green. John went out and bought some weed killer and gave the jungle two liberal doses on Thursday. Last night four of us got to ripping up what had withered over the weekend. It took about an hour to do and already looks so much better. We have more work to do but we got the majority ripped up. Our plan is probably to put some mulch down for the winter and then replant in the spring.

Because we’re all so efficient I didn’t have any time to snap some quality pictures of this process. These crappy cell phone pictures will have to do:

Highlights of the jungle removal include having squished mystery berries all over us, finding a dead bird in there, and our downstairs neighbor’s dog trying to “help” which consisted mostly of bounding in and out of the trash pile. Still laughing!
