Over the weekend I signed up for Bootstrap Compost. I have been feeling really weighed down with the thoughts of how much food waste we toss in the trash every day but wasn’t sure about composting myself. We don’t have the space, we wouldn’t use the compost, it might be too smelly, etc. But Bootstrap Compost is the perfect solution. Each week they will drop us off a clean 5 gallon bucket that we will fill with all of our kitchen scraps (food, paper towels, tea bags, dryer lint, etc) and then they pick it up (via bike, skateboard, hand truck, public transportation) and leave us a new clean bucket. We’ll have the option of getting some of our compost back but since we don’t need it, we’ll be donating it locally to community gardens and schools. I’m really excited about this and can’t wait to write more about it!
Have you ever heard of a cronut (half croissant, half donut)? I hadn’t either but I’m real glad I did. Apparently they make these beauties at the Dominique Ansel Bakery in NYC. I need to get there stat!

Design Sponge put together this great guide to create your own home theater, either indoor or outdoor. It’s not cheap but if you are really into a fully immersed movie watching situation, you may want to check this out.
I’m really loving the new crafty trend of turning old jeans into an apron. Curbly posted an article with seven different ways you can whip up a cute apron from an old pair of jeans. This one is my favorite – the fabric accents are so darling!
How incredible is this photograph series, Waterpower, by Pierre Carreau? His photographs are so intense yet delicate. Totally unreal.
