Hope everyone enjoyed the first installment of Beer In Review. On to the next one!
Our second feature is the 21st Amendment’s Hell or High Watermelon. Hell or High Watermelon is the 21st’s summer wheat beer, that undergoes a second fermenting with fresh watermelon.
Have you ever heard the phrase don’t judge a book by it’s cover? Yeah. I did that with this beer. I thought – Oh cute! Lady Liberty! Watermelon! No. I was dumb. This beer…this beer was gross. Let’s be blunt: it’s a glorified PBR with less hipster cred. The taste is like a light pale ale but stale and too filtered. Also, the watermelon? Not at all distinguishable. I got a faint note of watermelon on my second sip maybe? And by the fourth sip, this can of yuck was poured down the drain of the sink. Sorry 21st, I’m too much of a beer snob to waste taste buds or calories on you.

I wouldn’t recommend you purchase or even try this beer but hey, if you still want to and you know me in real life, let me know and I’ll give you one!
I’m not a beer gal – but I love micro-brewerys (usually have the best food) and I have an appreciation – because I cook with it. I have to say – it’s nice to see such an honest assessment. Sorry it didn’t taste delicious – it sure looked good!
I’m willing to try anything once, so it’s ok!
