First Snowpocalypse of 2011

The day started off nice enough, work was canceled, I slept in, the snow was pretty.

This was how much had already come down by 8AM:

Things went sour when we went outside to dig out our cars at 4PM. We discovered my car had an enormous fallen tree limb on it! It was too big and heavy to move and we weren’t sure what to do. Thankfully the Somerville Fire Department is literally across the street so we went and asked to borrow a saw from them. We hacked apart the downed tree, dragged it all out of the parking lot, and eventually uncovered my car. Thankfully there appears to be no damage.

I’m really worried about the tree the limb fell from though. Clearly the branches are really heavy with snow and I am nervous that more will fall overnight. I would have moved my car but every single spot in our lot was taken and there are no street spots left. Ugh, we’ll see what happens tomorrow!

Afterward we dug out John’s car which was much more pleasant.

As the sun set it was downright pretty outside, even with the freezing wind and snow blowing in every direction.
