Out of salad dressing? Sick of the bottled dressings with all kinds of HFCS? Need to throw something together that you already have all the ingredients for? Have no fear and follow this recipe.
The Easiest Salad Dressing Ever (2 servings)
1/3 cup oil (EVOO and canola work)
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. dijon mustard
1 tsp. chives
3 tsbp. white vinegar
1 pinch of chili powder
Combine all of your ingredients in something you can shake. Trust me on this, it won’t come together all the way by just stirring. Chill in the fridge for a bit or serve right away.
Suggestions for possible swaps, add ins, and substitutions:
Fresh herbs, finely minced shallots, a shot of balsamic vinegar, thin slices of green onion, crushed red pepper flake, lemon juice, honey.
The salad I poured this over was an at-home recreation of a delicious salad I got at The Fireplace last week (There’s was a warm baby spinach salad with manchester goat cheese, hard cooked eggs, and smoked bacon mustard dressing. Mine was a local lettuce, local asiago, hard boiled egg, turkey bacon, and this dressing version). I really love recreating restaurant dishes at home. Do you ever do that?
