Me, Lately

Whoa, it’s March! Anyone else a little flabbergasted about that? 2014 started off with a bang and has been go-go-go ever since. Here’s what I’ve been up to lately…

Thanks to my Timehop app I recently celebrated 1 full year of going to the gym in the morning. I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I’ve been doing this! I don’t know how on earth I ever went after work. This habit has been such a defining part of my life and routine over the last year that I am so grateful for. Also, after a slight health scare, my diet has changed significantly (low-fat, low sugar, no saturated fat – doctor’s orders). You may have noticed the recipes here have moved away from cookies and more towards kale! Everything is going well and I’m feeling good.

Valentine’s Day was pretty quiet this year. I went to Target the day after at 8AM and the Easter candy was already out!

Also happening this month? Snow. Lots of snow.

Speaking of Valentine’s Day, we made our annual trip to L’Espalier for afternoon tea to celebrate.

The dessert is always my favorite!

Another notable meal this month was my first trip to Alden & Harlow in Harvard Square. I had the Washington state mushrooms served with a 60 degree egg and the corn pancakes with grilled shishito peppers and popcorn. I cannot wait to go back!

Not much to say but I couldn’t resist including my tiny man here. He remains lazy, snuggly, and in love with sunny spots.

I’ve been studying nonstop for the past 2 months for a professional exam I had to take for work. I studied 20+ hours in the last 2 weeks alone. I took the test yesterday (it took 4 hours, by the way) and I’m so happy that it’s over with.

John and my latest binge-worthy TV shows are Fringe on Netflix (we’re on season 3) and True Detective on HBO. Oh my god, they are both so good!

Gotta be honest, the past few weeks have been exhausting – between my test, the winter, busy weekends, work, the gym, etc. I’m looking forward to a low key March, seeing a bunch of new movies (Grand Budapest Hotel, Bad Words, Walk Of Shame), and finally catching up on this pile of half finished books.
