Lately I’ve been thinking about random acts of kindness. They are a win-win because they make everyone involved feel good. One of my favorite things in the world is care packages. I get them less now that I’m an adult but when I was a kid, even when I was in college, I loved them.
Springtime is a great reason to send a care package. I decided to send a Happy Spring! themed care package to my nephews in Richmond and to my cousin Erin who is in college.
For my nephews I sent along my favorite springtime activities: sidewalk chalk, an egg coloring kit, coloring books, and fun growing capsules.
I went a little hog wild with my cousin’s care package. When I was in college I lived for care packages so I sent her a bunch of stuff I knew she’d love (fun socks, candy, markers, cute pencils, etc.).
I packaged them both up and headed off to the post office!
Care packages are such a fun, relatively inexpensive, and unique way to let someone you love know they are in your thoughts. Random acts of kindness don’t really have to be totally random, they just have to be unexpected and make the person on the receiving end feel really special.
So do it – send a care package to someone you love! It’s super fun to put together and you’ll feel great about it. Plus, it’s so exciting to get a message from the person who received it and loves it. Making other people happy really goes a long way in making you feel happy, trust me.
