New Careers?

With wedding planning firmly under my belt I am convinced I’m more than qualified for any one of the following careers (if I was looking to change careers, which I’m not):
– Travel Agent
– Accountant
– Event Coordinator
– Stage Manager
– Major Gifts Officer
– Graphic Designer
– Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine Correspondent
Why do some couples hire people to do this stuff for them? I don’t get it. Boat loads of extra money? Either way, I’m enjoying learning all these new skills!

      1. ahhh – makes sense. I thought it had something to do with filling out a registry, which, although it would be an awesome career, I’m hoping is not a real job.

  1. I know what you mean, but I suspect it’s useful in the situation where you’re throwing a majorly epic event and/or have more money than time.

  2. Because not everyone wants to stress about flowers and catering? I personally would just hire someone if I had the money who would consult with me on what I wanted but would take care of all the details. It’s great that you like it, but I don’t think you should assume it’s something for everyone.

    1. Oh I totally agree. I’m just commenting on the cost of the actual items PLUS the cost of hiring someone to figure it all out for you? I mean, now that I have a realistic notion of the price, doing both of those things seems like it would cost an astronomical mount of money. But hey, if you have the money to spend, go nuts!
