Specific Recipe Goals for 2011

In addition to making interesting lunches, dinners, and desserts I want to have some specific, more challenging recipe goals in 2011. Here’s my list so far.

Specific things I want to make in 2011:

  • Vanilla sugar
  • Meringue
  • Homemade Chinese food
  • Pickled jalapenos
  • Something with a fresh pomegranate
  • A series of homemade sauces (BBQ, hoisin, chutney, mole)
  • Caramels to give as gifts

General things I want to make:

  • More fish dishes
  • Nut butters
  • Pickled, canned, and jarred summer goodies
  • Carnivore friendly vegan dishes

If you have any suggestions, requests, or recipes, please comment with them!

  1. Caramels: Mia’s mom makes the best caramels. She found a recipe and just started this fall. They have a little salt sprinkled on them, and they blow my mind.

Carnivore friendly vegan dishes: If you haven’t been yet, I recommend checking out True Bistro in Teele. I would gladly trade a meat dish for almost anything on their menu. They do amazing things with mushrooms, and they use thinly-sliced smoked tofu on some dishes that tastes just like bacon.

    1. Yes! I LOVE salted caramels. I have the salt, just need a good recipe!

Oooh, I think I recently drove by there. OK. Will pilfer from their menu to start. Thanks BobHolt!
