Take Care of Me: December Update

IMG_0372My only resolution for 2013 has been to Take Care Of Me. To me, Take Care Of Me is a life philosophy: when I’m happy, I’m my best self. It’s that simple. January was great, I hit some road blocks in February, had both an injury and progress in March, kept it status quo in April, had an adventurous May, kickstarted my routine in June, kept the momentum going in July, remarked on the unremarkable in August, blurred through September, celebrated my birthday all month long in October, and started feeling the end of year stress in November. Let’s see how the final month of 2013 went!

In November I was really experiencing end of the year burnout: holidays, food excess, work deluge, being constantly plugged in, not having enough me time. That definitely continued into December with increased commitments, crappier weather, feeling like a Scrooge, and just in general taking care of everyone else but me. But, December always happens that way. I took my own advice and didn’t get down about it. I, instead, looked forward to our trip to Las Vegas (Dec. 23-30) which was awesome. Expect a whole separate blog on that as well as one looking towards 2014. Thank you for reading a full year of these recaps and for helping me stay accountable to my Taking Care of Me goal. Happy New Year everyone!
