Summer is winding down and I’m daring to deal with the blowdryer again. As I untangle my hair down from the 3 month long ponytail it’s been living in I’m wondering when my mane got so long.

I don’t know about you but in the summer I just can’t deal with the blowdryer. I never wear my hair up or pulled back to work, ever, but in the summer it can’t be helped. So, cute summer do’s are a must. Each summer I feel like I pick a handful of signature styles and just stick with them.

A year round staple: The Pompadour

I can’t deal with my bangs at all in the summer. I swear they stay up in a permanent pomp. In September I’m always amazed that my bangs have grown like an inch over the summer.

Styles for the length that I rocked this summer include a messy twisty bun (inspired by this one I saw on Pinterest), twisted bangs/cute headband/simple ponytail, and the fishtail braid (inspired by my girl, Nicole).

Also, speaking of hair, as I was packing for our big move I unearthed my old crimping iron from when I was a kid. Sadly, I had to get rid of it. Probably a good idea for something I haven’t used since the mid-90’s.
