Getting Hitched: 2 Weeks Out Edition, or Living In Fear

The wedding is 16 days away and for the last 3 weeks I’ve been living in fear. No, not because I’m stressed or anxious or because I’m having cold feet or anything like that. No, I live in fear that something stupid will happen, a random accident, a little mishap, that will ruin our wedding day. Hear me out…

I dusted off my bike a week or so ago and now every time I ride it I have awful visions of me flying over the handle bars and scraping up my face. I tell John to drive carefully every time he leaves the house now. I walk extra careful because I’m afraid of tripping or rolling an ankle. I’ve been washing my face like crazy for fear of a rogue pimple. I won’t pet the cat because I’m afraid he’ll play bite or scratch me and it’ll leave a mark.

This is totally ridiculous, I know. But it’s gotta be normal, right?

Just an FYI, over washing your face will make it produce more oil and could make you break out! Definitely avoid any harsh products (not the time for lactic acid or glycolic peels–while they are amazing in the long run, not good for short term), just wash your face with a gentle cleanser (I LOVE Elta MD gentle wash and moisturizer) and moisturize as much as possible. Also, vitamin C for under the eyes, and avoid salty foods & caffeine completely 3-5 days before the wedding. And drink water! As much plain tap water as possible will flush you out, give your skin a nice glow and make your abs nice and flat. Add a little Apple Cider Vinegar to your water will definitely make your cheeks a little glowy. Good luck!!!
