Wedding Reading

IMG_5932Is it weird that I’m approaching getting married like an academic venture needing to be researched and studied? Well I approach everything like that so I guess not.

I got some great recommendations on wedding reads from various blogs, friends, and reviews online. You know, real books on how to stay yourself while planning a wedding or how a long lasting marriage is completely separate and different from your wedding day, not garbage like this or this. I picked these four to start off (who am I kidding, it will probably take me 5 months to read these).

In order via that photo, I bought:

The Gastronomy of Marriage: A Memoir of Food and Love by Michelle Maisto (link)
The Commitment: Love, Sex, Marriage, and My Family by Dan Savage (link)
One Perfect Day: The Selling of the American Wedding by Rebecca Mead (link)
The Conscious Bride: Women Unveil Their True Feelings About Getting Hitched by Sheryl Paul (link)

Also, big shout out to buying used books on Amazon. If I had bought these all at a bookstore it would have cost me $59.94. But because Amazon offers used books, and many qualify for free shipping with orders over $25, these four actually cost me $22.51! Less than half!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some reading to do.
